In Memoriam Ray Jones 1963-2019
Last Wednesday the 17th of April we received the sad news ythat, after a short illness, Ray Jones died in his home in Portugal in the early morning. Ray was the manager of "The Web Bar" for many years.
When Ray was 29 years old, he took over The Web Bar from Barry Hebson (the first manager of The Web) on 1 May 1992. He was famous for his booming voice. If he had to announce something in the bar (such as the soup on Sunday), it would silence all visitors.
His biggest dream was to have a house under the Portuguese sun and he found one last year.
Unfortunately, this dream has been far too short. Ray lost the battle after a short illness. He turned 55 years old.
We wish his family and most close friends a lot of strength in this sad time.
