The mother of the Gay Pride is 50 years old.
The New York Gay Pride is an annual event that is entirely devoted to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT +) community, culture and pride.
The parade, or the Pride Parade, is the most famous and popular part of the Gay Pride.
The parade runs from Fifth Avenue to Greenwich Village, passing through Stonewall Inn - the place where the Stonewall Riots took place in 1969. This fight got out of hand seen as a milestone in the freedom movement for homosexuals The riots also contributed to the gay rights and the various gay prides in the world.
The WorldPride will also take place in New York in 2019. WorldPride is the largest Pride celebration in the world, every edition in a different location. This event will of course be held in New York in 2019, on the occasion of the 50-year jubilee of the Stonewall Riots.
WorldPride New York lasts the entire month of June and consists of more than 50 activities. The festivities end with the NYC Pride March on Sunday 30 June. More than 3 million people are expected to celebrate WorldPride NYC!
But there is a duel between two parades: The Heritage of Pride Parade and the Reclaim Pride parade. According to the Reclaim Pride, the spirit of Stonewall parade of 50 years ago can no longer be found in the over-commercialized Heritage of Pride Parade.
The real parade should also be a commemoration of what happened at Stonewall Inn in 1969, which, according to the Reclaim Pride, actually did not happen in the Heritage of Pride Parade.
Now luckily we don't have 5 parades that we had years ago in Berlin, but every Pride parade has the goal
