First ever Pride in London pop-up shop to open in Soho

Pride in London will open its first ever pop-up shop in the heart of Soho on Saturday 24 June.

Open for the duration of Pride in London fortnight, including Parade Day on 8 July, Pride in London will take over the shop space, donated by sponsor Shaftesbury, with a poignant new campaign 'Love Happens Here'.

The Pride in London pop-up shop will sell celebratory merchandise, including new ranges to support the 2017 #LoveHappensHere campaign, alongside festival tickets and Pride wristbands.

In addition, the Pride in London Pop-Up will host the 'Love Happens Here' notes initiative that, for a small donation, will allow visitors to write a message of love, and display them in the window. There will also be an art exhibition which will have Pride inspired art for sale.

A one stop shop for all things Pride, 18 Broadwick Street will also act as a community hub and safe space for all those who want to drop in and find out more about Pride. A diverse schedule of talks and workshops will also be held in the pop-up shop, further details on these will be announced through social media, @LondonLGBTPride.

Polly Shute, Development & Partnership Director Pride in London, said: "Pride in London is delighted to have a shop right in the heart of Soho for two weeks. We really want this to be a space for the public to come and find out more about all the events we have on and support us by buying merchandise and writing 'Love Happens Here' notes. We are very grateful to Shaftesbury for the space."

Brian Bickell, Chief Executive Shaftesbury, added: "We are proud to support Pride for the 3rd year running across our locations in Soho, Carnaby and Seven Dials. This year is particularly special for us with the pop-up in 18 Broadwick Street which we believe will be a welcome addition to the Soho community, London’s most diverse and vibrant district. It's also great to see our occupiers actively supporting Pride, selling wristbands and offering a range of special deals throughout the Pride Festival."
